Zara woman on the streets of Mumbai^^

Let me just say I love sale season and the time in between winter and summer. Actually, Mumbai doesn't really have much of a winter and I am so delighted to be spending this transit time exploring beautiful Mumbai and a host of festivals including Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2017 and the Kala Ghoda Arts Festival. Here are a few pictures of me exploring old Mumbai streets in my new Zara outfit. I'm loving it.

Nagaland Through My Eyes - Sibling Style with Sakune & Ashibu Nienu^

Nagaland Through My Eyes - Sibling Style with Sakune & Ashibu Nienu^

There are so many stylish women and girls around me all the time and this is especially true in Nagaland. In Kohima, I can spend hours checking out beautiful people going about their daily businesses looking like they just popped out of a style magazine and I am especially glad to call many of these stylish people my friends.  Two of the most stunningly well turned out ladies I know are sisters from Nagaland and I'm delighted to share their style story with you all. They are Ashibu Nienu and Sakune Nienu, both with a distinct style of their own and always perfectly dressed up or down.  Ashi has a Degree in Fashion Design while  Sakune holds a Degree in Fashion Marketing & Management. Here's a glimpse of our chitchat at their Jotsoma home on a chilly January afternoon, looking cheery in their winter layers. We had a great deal of fun exploring the new #swagphonehonor6x All images shot on #swagphone

Nagaland Through My Eyes - Cynthia Kolakhe - Wall of Art^^

Nagaland Through My Eyes - Cynthia Kolakhe - Wall of Art^^

Cynthia Kolakhe  is an artist through and through - whether it is her Street art, paintings or the quirky fusion clothes she designs. We chat over coffee, chicken pakoras and the best chow in town at  Dream Cafe , my destination cafe for all meetups and chats when in Kohima. And then we drive around town while she points out what she has been doing with a bunch of like- minded people to beautify Kohima - with murals and thought provoking art. If you were wondering who has been splashing beautiful art all over town and in tight corners, stand back and pause a moment and reflect on the message in the images. It says many different things but most importantly, that you are and can be the change and times are changing whether you like it or not.

Nagaland Through My Eyes - Tuden Jamir - Musical Magic^^

Nagaland Through My Eyes - Tuden Jamir - Musical Magic^^

Say hello to Tuden Jamir.  He is quite a bubblehead in the nicest way possible. I think he is the most creative person I know in the Naga Music scene. Just watch a few of his music videos and surely, listen to his music to know what I am talking about. He’s just brilliant. We catch up late one evening to talk about his music plans and the things that make him Tuden and got to hear his new song “See”. Make sure to grab it when it comes out.

Nagaland Through My Eyes - The other taste of Nagaland - Organic Veggie Paradise^^

Nagaland Through My Eyes - The other taste of Nagaland - Organic Veggie Paradise^^

A woman sells organic garlic, ginger, kiwi fruits and yam by a sidewalk in Kohima. Nagaland is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna, and they somehow, famously make it to the dinner table. Since people highlight the non vegetarian aspect of Naga cuisine often, I am going the vegetarian route in this post. It is undeniable that Nagas love their meat but each Naga meal has a lot of greens as accompaniment.

Nagaland Through My Eyes - Riding new waves with Thejakielie Zuyie^^

Meet Thejakielie Zuyie aka AK or Akelie to friends. He calls himself a jack of all trades.  Others like me would call him a grandmaster and a very well dressed one. We take a walk down memory lane to our alma mater, Don Bosco School Kohima where he was my senior.  I ask him how he started his entrepreneurial journey and what keeps him on the move. The travel bug got to him early while still in school and as a young Scout in the 9th grade, he got to represent the country internationally in 1998. "It was a good feeling to wear the 'India' badges on my uniform as the only Indian cadet', he reminisces.  After high school, he trained as a Sound Engineer and soon set up his enterprise, LifePro - one of the first professional event sound solutions and management teams in Nagaland. This keeps him and his team busy. He hasn't looked back since, rather letting music and managing events take him across shores while his wanderlust takes him deeper on a j

Nagaland through my eyes - Keds Krome - Style Inspiration

Nagaland through my eyes - Keds Krome - Style Inspiration

Chilling at  # KohimaWarCemetery .  Shot with upcoming @ hihonorindia phone. This post is part of a 7 day photo series for  #IndiaPhotoProject  titled "Nagaland through my eyes" -  Glimpses of a land much misunderstood, the people, things and places that make the real Nagaland.    Two of my favourite things in Kohima are documented in this post. First, my favourite Naga Star - Keds Krome. Designer Extraordinaire/Fashionista/Cat lover/Inspiration/Sounding board. At one of Kohima's most beautiful and iconic spot - World War 2 Memorial Cemetery. Many of my most memorable moments have been spent at the Cemetery, among the beautifully maintained gardens, peaceful corners and happy colours of flowers. A calm place where many soldiers have been laid to rest and marks a dark time in the history of the world but gives hope to much these days. I first met Keds Krome when I needed new outfits for a gig in Bangkok. She came up with something amazing for me and my sis
