Celebrations with Amber^^

Celebrations with Amber^^

My Styling date with Amber  https://getamber.com/ Instagram :  @appamber   Facebook :  www.facebook.com/getamber Its the festive season and I have lots of party invitations. I have lots of clothes and shoes but what about make up? And hair?  I'm bored with my usual styles but don't want to cut my hair so what do I do?  Amber comes to the rescue.  Amber is an excellent online platform to get access to makeup artists and hair stylists all over India and an array of beauty and lifestyle services. I found my make up artist and hair stylist Prachi who came right to my living room to do my makeup and hair. So my make up artist arrived. I just had to tell her that I'm going to a pre Christmas party and feel like a Princess and she happily turned me into this. Thank you  Amber  for sending the very talented Prachi and her assistant Ashu to help me. Here I am wearing my new lace dress and fur that I picked up during my visit to Kunming, China for the Handsha

Red is the colour of love: Dulla Chelsea boots^^

Red is the colour of love: Dulla Chelsea boots^^

Call me a romantic but I think red is rightly the colour of love. Love however can be many different degrees and kinds. Like how I love my new Dulla chelsea boots is different from how I love wearing my traditional Naga costumes. Like my love for home food and my love for the occasional sweet treats. One love is constant in my life and that is the love of my family. December is always family time and I always feel blessed to have my parents and siblings around the holiday season. Red is also the colour of Christmas more than Valentine's Day for me. I am looking forward to Christmas. A quiet but warm one this season. And my red Dulla chelsea boots will keep me company as they did on my recent trip to Kunming China for an amazing cultural experience. You can buy your own pair at Dulla Shoes

My first red dress - OnlyUrs fashion^^

My first red dress - OnlyUrs fashion^^

I don't usually wear red or gowns for that matter but when I saw this particular piece at  OnlyUrs , I was tempted to try it and I think it does make me look more lady like and slightly more mature. I felt like a royal as I lounged around the beautiful hotel grounds of Devi Bhawan in Jodhpur in this pretty dress. I feel that it is difficult to find the right shade of red. By the right shade, I mean a red that flatters your skin tone. I think I have found mine. As for lip shades, I prefer a glossy cherry to red. and nails, I don't apply nail paint at all. Perhaps, I should start with a nice red this festive season.

Girl in Boots - Dulla Shoes Winter Collection 2015^^

Girl in Boots - Dulla Shoes Winter Collection 2015^^

After exactly five months, I am back home and how the season changes! It's crisp and cold and sunny and dusty in Kohima but I love coming home to Kohima winters. There are lots of winter goodies you see. Family gatherings, weddings, Christmas prep and then Christmas, festivals and yummy food and spending time with family and friends. It's the holiday season for me at least. When I was younger, I would look forward to December as that meant the end of a year and exams and celebrations after that. Christmas shopping was the highlight of December.

Rajasthan Diaries: Blue city with a splash of white^^

Rajasthan Diaries: Blue city with a splash of white^^

My Rajasthan Diaries continue. This time, it was Jodhpur, Pushkar and Ajmer. Music has taken me to a lot of beautiful places. Sometimes, I am performing and other times I am just a spectator. At the recently concluded Jodhpur RIFF or Rajasthan International Folk Festival, I was a part of the mesmerized audience. The concerts at dawn, dusk and under moonlit skies were all moments to remember. I also got to see quite a bit of the glorious Mehrangarh Fort where the festival was held. It was simply mind blowing. Do make sure to spend a day exploring the delights of the fort if you do visit Jodhpur. Next time, I am surely going to make my way around the city bylanes.

Lulu Külüvelü Tetse-O : Her Royal Highness ^^

Lulu Külüvelü Tetse-O : Her Royal Highness ^^

Photography Courtesy : Mercy Tetse-O Alüne Külüvelü Tetseo - Her Highness Princess Lulu Kuvelü Tetse-O at  kuvelutetseo  - 1 year agoLulu is truly a miracle baby. She was resuscitated just in time by the Doctor and announced her presence with a spirited cry. She was born on a lovely October morning at home as we were getting ready for school. Mother says she had gone all blue when she was born because mom passed out from exhaustion for a moment while in labour and poor Lulu had to bear the brunt of it. Luckily, she is still here brightening our lives and we are thankful for her everyday for reminding us that life is fragile but we have to live it up.  She is my baby sister but then, I get to be the baby of the house now that she has grown into a mature young lady with her heart in the right place, and studying medicine. Love my little sister.

Wearing a sweet manga print white top, Converse Shoes and checked pants from online store,  OnlyUrs So I drove to Shimla recently to escape the Delhi heat and what a pleasure it was to breathe in the crisp air of the green hills. Spent a full day discovering the delights of the famous Mall Road and checked out the nooks and corners of Shimla Town.

Into the Garden^^

Into the Garden^^

After a fruitful vacation at home and singing the National Anthem at the Pro Kabaddi League in Kolkata, I am finally back in Delhi. We managed to record around 6 new songs, shot three videos and did a series of fashion photoshoots. Will be announcing soon on our official website. Been feeling like a royal after coming back to Delhi :) This is because of a really beautiful cream and gold gown right out of a fairytale which became mine thanks to the elves and wizards at www.onlyurs.com. Do visit their website www.onlyurs.com   for more exciting outfits, bags and footwear. I also successfully bribed my younger sister Lulu with gifts picked up from Forever21, Zara, a Movie treat and even cooking Chicken for her to click pictures of me wearing my new dress. We went for a stroll in the Garden of 5 Senses the other day and found a beautiful corner in the park to do our photo session. Hope you enjoy going through the pictures.

How to wear a saree Gujarati style^^

How to wear a saree Gujarati style^^

This is definitely not a 'how to drape a saree' post . There is something very beautiful about wearing a saree. As much as I enjoy wearing my own traditional Mekhela-Shawl ensemble, it's fun to drape a saree on and twirl around like a film star once in a while. This one is a fun and colourful Egyptian print cotton saree draped Gujarati style by Nirupa Aunty. I borrowed it from her along with the elegant jewels as well. I have used the necklace pendant as a hairpiece. I love the sexy tie up blouse in black with white piping and laces in the back.

Kuvelü Tetseo in Designs by Bonnei Darang^^

January might not just be the best time to make a trip to Arunachal Pradesh. The plan was to shoot the Tetseo Sisters in a couple of dreamy poses in Arunachali Designer Boney Darang's colourful Ethnic creations against the breathtaking locales of Pasighat, Ziro and Tawang. You can follow her at www.da-rang.co.in and www.facebook.com/pages/BEntity. For reasons best known to me and my gang, Tawang remained Yarrow Unvisited for another time. But here we go....Some of these pictures appeared in the March Issue of Eclectic Times and some more will be appearing somewhere soon. Enjoy!
